The Bauhaus and the Birth of Modernism
A small school picked a big fight.
The fight redesigned your world.
Understand the workshop where art, craft and industry finally merged — and see why the chair you sit on and the city you live in both trace back to it.
Bauhaus myth and Bauhaus fact will separate for you.
- Grasp the big idea — understand how form following function conquered the world
- Meet the founders — know the teachers and rebels who built modernism's engine
- See design unified — understand buildings, furniture and graphics as a single project
- Read modernist buildings — recognise the glass, steel and white walls with fresh insight
- Understand the diaspora — follow exiled ideas as they reshaped cities across the globe
- Spot it everywhere — see this school's fingerprints on objects you touch daily

The Bauhaus was a logo and a font to me before this course. Following the school's workshops, politics and eventual diaspora explained how one small institution rewired global design education, including mine. I finally understand where my own curriculum's assumptions come from.

Answered simply.
The Bauhaus gets mentioned constantly — what will I actually gain here?
You'll understand what it truly taught and why it spread worldwide, so 'Bauhaus' becomes something you can explain rather than a word you nod at.
Is this relevant to designers outside architecture?
Completely — the Bauhaus fused architecture, product, graphics and craft, and its teaching model still shapes design schools everywhere.
Do I need any prior experience?
No. Every course starts from where you are and builds up step by step, in plain language.
Is this software training?
No — software changes yearly. The thinking you learn here lasts a career.
How does it work?
Short video lessons with a small practice task after each. Any device, your pace.
What does membership include?
